So your child wants to make music? Where do you start? For most students it starts in 4th grade and you're faced with many decisions as to which instrument to select. For most parents selecting an instrument is a challenge(guess work), either selecting an instrument because of the cost or size. The smaller the better in either case. Well that doesn't make for a very good band. A good band consists of three groups of instruments, Woodwinds, Brass and Percussion, all of them have their own separate set of challenges.
